Standard vs Express Delivery

Customers can choose between Standard Delivery (default for all instant purchase products) and Express Delivery (for faster service in certain locations). This guide explains the key differences, lead times, and when express delivery applies.

Standard Delivery

  • Default delivery option for all instant purchase products.
  • Most products have a lead time of two days.
  • Cut-off time for orders: 2 PM
    • Example: If a customer orders on Monday before 2 PM, the product arrives on Wednesday.
  • Longer lead times (3-7 days) apply to products that are not readily stocked.
    • Product-specific lead times are shown on the product page.
  • When customers add multiple items with different lead times, the final delivery date is displayed on the checkout page.

Express Delivery

  • Customers can pay an additional fee for next-day delivery.
  • Currently available for:
    • Insulation and dry lining products in major UK cities.
    • Building materials, timber, and sheet materials.
  • Checking Express Delivery Eligibility:
    • Go to the Super Admin Panel.
    • Scroll down to Product ManagementExpress Delivery Locations.
    • Search for the customer’s delivery postcode to check eligibility.

Express Delivery Charges

  • Express delivery replaces any standard delivery charges.
  • Example:
    • If an order has a £35 + VAT delivery charge but is eligible for express delivery, the charge will be £50 + VAT instead.
  • Customers must confirm they are happy to pay for express delivery before proceeding.
